There will be an agenda item for a public hearing for property owners and business owners to speak on their concerns about property appraisal hikes at the Harker Heights City Council meeting at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, May 23rd. City council is very concerned about us and what is going on with our significantly increased property values and property taxes in Harker Heights.
Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for
Caring Hands Learning Center
The City of Harker Heights invites the whole family to come out for the Harker Heights Memorial Parade and Ceremony 2017 on Saturday, May 27, 2017. The parade will take place at 9:00 am with the Memorial Ceremony to follow shortly after the parade at approximately 10:30 am. With approval of the Texas Department of Transportation, FM 2410/Knight’s Way from Wildewood Dr. to Walgreen’s will be closed from 8:45 am – 10:45 am on Saturday, May 27, 2017 for the parade. The section of FM 2410/Knight’s Way from Verna Lee and Wildewood Dr. will be closed at 7:15 am for the parade staging. The parade will start at Wildewood Dr. and proceed on FM 2410/Knight’s Way; turning right onto Miller’s Crossing and continuing past Harker Heights City Hall. As soon as the parade traffic clears, FM 2410/Knight’s Way will reopen. The ceremony will take place at the Veteran’s Monument located in front of Harker Heights City Hall, 305 Miller’s Crossing. In case of rain, the parade will still continue as long as it is not a storm and the ceremony will move indoors to the Harker Heights Recreation Center, 307 Miller’s Crossing. The ceremony will feature a traditional wreath laying to honor those who gave their lives. Businesses, groups, and organizations can still enter to be in the parade (no entry fee required). The deadline for parade entries is Tuesday, May 23, 2017.
